La Boquilla is the fishing neighbourhood of Cartagena, north of the city: dark grey sand, clear water and moderate surf, noticeably calmer than the beaches downtown or in Bocagrande.

It sits about 15 kilometres from the historic centre, roughly a 20 minute drive, or 20 to 30 minutes by bus and shared van along the Manzanillo del Mar road. For the walled city, Bocagrande or the airport, a taxi or ride app is the practical option, especially at night.
